Vale Volunteer bureau

The Vale Volunteer Bureau

The Vale Volunteer Bureau (VVB) was opened in 1996 and now operates out of accessible, shop-front premises on Holton Road.  The premises are modern, comfortable, welcoming and are situated in Barry town centre.

The VVB provides a comprehensive service to volunteers with a wide range of volunteering opportunities locally (500+) and a database of over 1,000 overseas volunteering opportunities.

The Vale Volunteer Bureau (VVB) offers a one-stop resource for information, advice and guidance on all aspects of volunteering for both volunteers and recruiting organisations.  We aim to link the skills, experiences, time and enthusiasm of local people looking to volunteer with organisations seeking to develop their service.

Aims of the VVB:

  • to improve the way the community is reflected in its volunteers
  • to provide a successful and efficient bureau service
  • to improve good practice in volunteering in the Vale of Glamorgan
  • to improve the quality of management and governance of the VVB
  • to increase the number of volunteers
  • to improve the quality of volunteering opportunities
  • to increase access to diverse volunteering opportunities throughout every community in the Vale of Glamorgan
