Cowbridge Male Voice Choir (Cor Meibion y Bontfaen) was formed in 1971. In 1973 they appeared on television and in April 1974 sang before H.R.H. Priness Alexandra at the Royal Albert Hall, London, sharing the stage with Dame Vera Lynn and Larry Adler. In 1994 they appeared with Anneka Rice (CMVC President) in Challenge Anneka. The choir sing frequently in support of charities in the UK and abroad.
Our aim is to perpetuate the great Welsh tradition of male voice choral singing with a broad repertoire of music bringing pleasure to diverse present day audiences. We place high priority on supporting charitable causes through fundraising concerts.

The choir has travelled widely abroad over the years and has recently visited Ontario (1994), Ireland (1996&1999), the Czech Republic (1998), Boston & Providence USA (2000), Malta (2005).
The repertoire is varied, ranging from classical Welsh choral pieces such as Gwahoddiad, Laudamus, Llef and Myfanwy, to musicals such as Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera and West Side Story. We have also incorporated more modern songs such as Bohemian Rhapsody, California Dreaming and House of the Rising Sun.
Membership has risen dramatically over the years and has now almost reached the 90 mark. We are still looking for members, so those who live in the area would be most welcome to take part in a rehearsal. These are held in Cowbridge Comprehensive Middle School every Wednesday evening during school term time. They start at 7:30pm and last about 2 hours. Visitors to the area are also most welcome to sit in on our rehearsals should they be in the area on a Wednesday evening.
